Capital Power is an Edmonton independent power producer, spun out of EPCOR. It owns about 12 GW across 35 plants in Canada and the United States. Natural gas does most of the work. Genesee west of Edmonton is the largest plant, converted from coal to gas. It sells power on contract and into the Alberta market. This Canadian Dividend Aristocrat is a slow grower, paid from cash flow. A North American independent power producer.
