Loblaw is Canada's largest retailer, with grocery stores and Shoppers Drug Mart. No Frills and Maxi are the discount banners, Loblaws and Superstore the conventional ones. Metro and Empire also sell groceries, but they do not have a pharmacy network like Shoppers.
Loblaw is a Canadian Dividend Aristocrat. The payment comes from grocery and pharmacy cash flow. Solid dividend growth with a small yield. Leftover cash goes into stores and buybacks. Canada's biggest grocer and drugstore.
