Rogers Sugar is the holding company for Lantic, Canada's largest homegrown sugar refiner. It shares a tariff-protected duopoly with Redpath and runs cane plants in Montreal and Vancouver plus Canada's only beet mill in Taber, Alberta. Shoppers see Lantic in the East and Rogers in the West. Maple syrup is a side business. This is a high-income staple. Cash from a low-growth refining business funds the dividend. Canada's sugar name that still pays like an income trust.
