UTES Dividend Summary
Evolve Canadian Utilities Enhanced Yield Index Fund holds a concentrated basket of Canadian utilities, pipelines, and telecommunications companies through an equal-weighted index. It adds up to 25% leverage and writes covered calls on part of the portfolio, trading some upside for option income and less volatility. Monthly distributions are the point. The 0.85% MER is steep beside a plain equity ETF, but UTES is a more engineered product built to turn defensive infrastructure businesses into high income.
